ACCOLADES ABOUND FOR THE SHORES AT PECONIC LANDING

The Shores at Peconic Landing has been recognized for excellence in “America’s Best Nursing Homes,” a feature in the current issue of US News & World Report. There are over 16,000 nursing homes nationwide, and The Shores is one of only 173 acknowledged in the news magazine.

To earn inclusion, a nursing home had to receive the highest possible rating in the last evaluation by the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This rating is based on health inspections, amount of nursing care and performance in a range of quality measures.

Peconic Landing President and CEO Robert J. Syron attributes this achievement and other meaningful accolades recently earned by The Shores to an organization-wide focus on delivering outstanding quality care. “These successes are a direct result of The Shores team and their ongoing commitment to excellence,” he said. “It’s meaningful to have the results of this dedication to exceptional care published in a national magazine.”

“I’m extremely proud of what our team has accomplished,” said Greg Garrett, Vice President and Administrator of Health Services. “This recognition is a true reflection of the way we work together to deliver peace of mind to our residents. We utilize state-of-the-art medical technology and innovative best practices while also creating a family environment where staff members get to know every resident.”

NEWS FROM THE SHORES

The Shores earned national recognition as a Person-Centered Long Term Care Community through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Commended by CARF on its quest for quality programs and services, The Shores is the sole recipient of this accreditation in the New York Metropolitan Area.

Achieving this prestigious endorsement is like being awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. The Shores demonstrated that it meets international standards for quality by voluntarily putting itself through a rigorous peer review process and also proved this commitment to a team of surveyors.

Greg Garrett, Peconic Landing’s Vice President and Administrator of Health Services, received the Young Administrator of the Year Award from NYASHA (New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging). He also achieved the status of Certified Aging Services Professional through the Coalition for Leadership in Aging Services and the University of North Texas.

Peconic Landing’s Medical Director, Dr. Anthony Bennardo is a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care through the American Medical Directors Association.

Health Center Receptionist Maureen Blattner was a recipient of NYASHA’s Employee of Distinction Award.
